Our Story
About us
Rock Salt & Nails is an acoustic/Americana/roots band from Northeast Ohio that has been together since 2008. With covers of songs by artists such as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Utah Phillips and the Carter family, we draw on a wide variety of influences. Our songwriting blends our love of storytelling and truth telling, with a range of acoustic instrumentation. Professor Jim on the clarinet adds some bluesy tones to our mix.
RSN has played on stages all over Ohio from festivals to wineries, listening rooms, galleries, universities, and has opened for touring bands. In 2020 and 2021 we performed virtually in Scotland’s Fringe (Online Space UK) festival.
Our latest CD, Up on the Blocks, can be found on many platforms such as Spotify. Priscilla, Keith and the two Jims will be sure to make you tap your toes, share a laugh with us and perhaps tug at your heartstrings a bit.
